Orla Coughlan

Orla has been teaching music at senior level at a Dublin school for over 15 years. She has presented at the PPMTA Leaving Cert Music Easter revision course in Trinity College in 2008 & 2009. Orla is passionate about helping every student reach their full potential. She is committed to making online classes interactive and engaging and presents material in a variety of ways to suit each student’s unique learning style. She takes great pride in creating a comfortable, encouraging and productive learning environment for her students while prioritising their progress.
Orla first completed a Bachelor of Education degree in St. Patrick’s College, Drumcondra qualifying as a primary school teacher before returning to further study completing a Master of Arts (Humanities) degree, specialising in music composition. Following this she completed the Higher Diploma in Education in Trinity College, qualifying as a post-Primary teacher.
Orla is a fully qualified & experienced teacher at both primary and secondary level. She has experience working with students of all ages and abilities and has completed further study in the Postgraduate Diploma in Learning Support and Special Education Needs in Trinity College. She is a registered member of the Teaching Council at both primary and post-primary level and is fully Garda vetted.

Year One: The course will be delivered over 30 weeks - three terms of 10 classes each, live via Zoom, from September 2024 to May 2025 (excl. holidays)
Year Two: The course will be delivered over 30 weeks - three terms of 10 classes each, live via Zoom, from September 2025 to May 2026 (excl. holidays)
Online Group Sessions:
The cost for this course is €350 per term of 10 lessons.
Classes are an hour in duration and cover the listening and composing papers of the exam, as well as the aural skills and technology elements of the practical exam.
It is important to note that only the technology and aural skills element of the music practical will be covered. The performance element of the exam will not be covered. This part of the exam is usually covered by the student’s instrumental or singing teacher.

Classes are 90 minutes in duration and cover the listening and composing papers of the exam, as well as the aural skills and technology elements of the practical exam.
